Client Spotlight: Marcus & Jessica

We’re kicking off our Client Spotlight series where we feature some of our fave Tiny Pools!

This pool in West Austin has nearly all. of. the. things (deck - check, heater - check, autofill - check), so it’s a great one to literally jump into. But don’t take our word for it - hear from the owners in our interview with them!

What's the most unexpected "joy" you get out of your Tiny Pool?

Precious time with family.

What made you get a Tiny Pool?

Amy the owner of course! We love her! She is the most professional, kind, honest, hard-working contractor we have ever worked with!  It was also the perfect solution for our small, narrow backyard and while still having usable space with the cover.

Why did you choose to get our sliding safety deck?

Most important reason for us was safety (we have young kids and dogs). Second, we have lots of trees that would make a mess with leaves, so it helps to have the pool covered. The deck also helps maintain the pool temperature and gives us usable backyard and deck space when we’re not using the pool.

It’s hot out now so you don’t need it, but we know you have an electric heater. How long does it take to heat your pool from turning the heater on to yay - it's warm enough to jump in on a snow day?

We typically turn the heater on when it’s in the 50’s. We have an electric heater which takes a little longer to warm up the water than a natural gas heater. I turned the heater on on a Thursday evening to have it at 90 degrees by Saturday morning and it got there no problem. We do keep the cover on when we aren’t using it which helps maintain the heat. We can typically plan on heating the water from 78 to 90 degrees within 24 hours.

Do you have any info. on cost / month or even cost/day of how much it costs to heat it during the coldest months of the year?

We have never noticed our electricity bill increase more than $30-40 a month in the months we are using the heater regularly.

Anything else fun you'd like to share about how your family is using the pool?

We use the deck for family movie night when the weather is nice! And we hope to use it for future backyard tent camp outs too.
