Cover Options for your Tiny Pool
To cover or not to cover… this can become a big question as part of your Tiny Pool decision process! You’ve taken the plunge and decided to get a pool, but do you also want to invest in a cover?
Tiny Pools offers three types of custom pool covers to meet your budget, goals, and backyard vibe. Covers aren’t just our secret sauce - they’re an important part of our mission to build safer and smarter pools that are better for the environment.
Weigh the pros and cons of the three options below to help in your pool decision-making journey!
Tiny Pools Sliding Deck Cover
We designed our patented sliding deck cover when we built the very first Tiny Pool to address several important needs:
First and foremost is safety - for people and animals. Our sliding decks can fully secure and lock your pool, keeping two- and four-legged friends safe.
The deck cover gives you back usable yard space. For most of our clients, yard space is precious and our decks ensure that you don’t sacrifice your entire yard for a pool. When the deck is closed, you can use the space above your pool to entertain, exercise, or just lounge!
It keeps the water temperature cooler and decreases evaporation if you keep it closed when you’re not swimming!
How does it work?
Our sliding deck covers are structurally engineered and specifically designed to be used over water. The TimberTech decking that we use is made of approximately 60% recycled material, and it slides on aluminum and concrete tracks over your pool when it’s covered, and continues onto these minimalist tracks in your yard when it’s open.
The deck can be designed in several ways, in one or two pieces, and with vertical or horizontal applications and custom sizes. There is a maximum size for these decks, and it’s also critical to ensure the location of the pool in your yard can accommodate for the deck to be open. If you’re considering the sliding deck option, we can review all of these scenarios with you at your site visit!

Pros
Utmost safety for people and animals
Easy to open but also easy to close and lock
Gives you back useable yard space - walk on it, decorate it, party on it!
Keeps pool water cool in hot Texas weather (and warm if you’re heating in the winter)
Decreases water evaporation when closed
Cons
Must ensure that you have the yard space for the deck to slide open
Can limit the size of your pool
Manual to slide open - the larger the deck, the heavier it is to slide open
Safety Net & Debris Cover
We love working with the company Katchakid to design custom covers for our clients who are interested in this option. The most economical of the covers we offer, Katchakid offers two applications that you can choose between or combo together: a safety net and debris cover.
The Katchakid Pool Net (aka “safety net”) is just that - a net that stretches across the length of your pool, securely hooks into the pool coping (border) and prevents humans and animals from falling through the net.
The Katchaleaf Pool Cover (aka “debris cover”) is a solid fabric material that prevents environmental debris such as leaves from falling into the pool. It also stretches across and attaches to the coping. We offer the debris cover in black (pictured above), blue, or green.

Least expensive option
Keep your pool safe and clean

Automatic Recessed Cover
The third cover option that we install is CoverCare’s automatic cover. With the literal push of a button, an vinyl cover can slide across and fully cover your pool. The cover is housed on one end of your pool in a basin that we tastefully design to incorporate into your pool coping. This cover is a solid safety and environmental option, as well as great for keeping your pool clean.
