How Much Does a Tiny Pool Cost?

One of the most common questions that we get is, “How much does a Tiny Pool cost?” We wish it were a simple answer, but the reality is, there are several factors that can affect the final cost.

Just like purchasing a home or a car, the cost of building a custom pool can vary widely. In this blog post, we will discuss the factors that affect the cost of building an inground swimming pool.

“Just like purchasing a home or a car, the cost of building a custom pool can vary widely.”

Factors that affect the cost of building an inground swimming pool

  • Site Prep: Don’t forget about all the work that needs to happen before the excavators show up. Tree protection needs to be installed, fences may need to be reconfigured, and areas may need to be cleared of vegetation, old decks, or sheds. There may also be existing underground utilities and irrigation lines that need to be relocated. All of this prep work can add up!

  • Location & Access: Pools built on difficult terrain, near existing structures, or with tight access for construction equipment may require specialized equipment and more manual work, which can be more time intensive (and expensive) to build.

  • Utilities: The location of your electrical panel, gas meter, or closest water line can affect the cost of your pool. Longer runs or underground trenching to your equipment pad location can add significant cost to your pool build. We work with our clients to select the optimal location for a pool, but sometimes the best location for a pool is not the closest to the existing utilities.

  • Size: The size of your pool is one of the biggest factors that will affect the cost of construction. A larger pool will require more materials and labor, which will drive up the cost.

  • Depth: Even with a smaller footprint, a deeper excavation means more material to haul off and more rebar and concrete to install.

“Don’t forget to budget for the finishing touches after your pool is completed. You may need to install landscaping or buy furniture to make the most of your new Tiny Pool life!”

But wait, there’s more!

  • Pool Equipment & Extra Features: Every Texas Tiny Pool comes standard with an energy-efficient Pentair pump, cartridge filter, chlorinator, UV system, LED light, and an automation panel to control it all. From there, equipment is up to you! Heaters (or heater/chiller combo) are a very popular option, as well as Ozone cleaning system, pool robots/vacuums, swim jets, and more.

  • Pool Finish / Plaster: This is another area where the Tiny Pools “standard” would be an upgrade for most other pool builders. We install StoneScapes Mini Pebbles in White or Salt & Pepper as our standard. Other colors may be an upgrade cost due to the pigments and aggregates needed to achieve certain water colors. Our other upgrade option — Hydrazzo — is a smooth, luxurious surface that is more labor intensive (and therefore more costly) to install. Click here for more information on our pool finish options.

  • Tile: Another area where costs can vary widely is your waterline tile. Our standard price includes a beautiful ceramic tile around your waterline. But just like anything else, you can choose to upgrade materials, or even add tile to your sun shelf or add “toe tile” to your steps and benches. Click here for more information about our tile options.

  • Finishing Touches: Don’t forget to budget for the finishing touches after your pool is completed. You may need to install landscaping or buy furniture to make the most of your new Tiny Pool life!

Conclusion

The cost of inground swimming pool construction can vary widely depending on the factors listed above. It’s important to find a pool builder who will be be mindful of your budget and transparent about your pricing and options.

Be wary of pool builders who advertise a pool price without even seeing your unique yard or discussing how you plan to use your pool!
